DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel London Kingston Upon Thames

1 Skerne Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT2 5FJ, UK – 020 3096 0099

Nice new hotel, makes for a comfortable stay. A few mistakes made by the staff. They were very apologetic after it was pointed out, still didn't stop more mistakes from happening ! Hope the management work on that, as it doesn't hold up to the Hilton name. Apart from that it was a great stay. All being said, I would recommend staying here. Food and rooms are all up to standard. Location is great for Kingston town centre and local towns.

So far my favourite hotel in this area! Well kept, great hotel restaurant, and comfy beds. They also treat Hilton Honors members well. Free breakfast vouchers and high floor. Staff very friendly and helpful, offered travel advice and bought toothbrush kits up to the room.

Premier Inn London Kingston Upon Thames

Combined House, 15 Wheatfield Way, Kingston upon Thames KT1 2PD, UK – 0871 527 9586

If you have been to one of the more modern or recently refurbished Premier Inns you will know what to expect. Spacious air conditioned room, big comfortable bed. A good night's sleep followed by a good breakfast all at a reasonable price. Difficult to get to by car when I visited (August 2018) as the road to the car park was dug up and closed and they didn't warn us. Hopefully things will be back to normal soon but best to check.

Room nice but not let down in the restaurant. First night it took over an hour for our meals to arrive. My husband was happy with his steak but my haddock was disgusting. I don't think it had thawed out properly before being cooked. I did not have to pay for it. No argument. Was offered refund immediately. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. We both found the bath a bit high and quite difficult to get into and out of when we showered.

The White Hart Hotel

1 High St, Hampton Wick, Kingston upon Thames KT1 4DA, UK – 020 8977 1786

I had 2 of the Superior Suites for the night before my wedding, getting ready in the morning and then for the wedding night. What a perfect, picturesque hotel for this purpose! The superior suites are beautiful and large and made a great back drop to the photos of us getting ready. It was 29oc outside and the air con was amazing and really helpful for when there’s a large group getting ready for a wedding. The meal the night before was gorgeous, the beds comfortable, the breakfast perfect and the staff extremely accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to someone just looking for a room overnight, or, to book for the weekend of the most important day of their lives!

Perfect location. Lovely oldie world pub. Rooms beautifully finished. Great air conditioning. Food well worth having. Staff really helpful and friendly. A little gem of a find. Well definitely be back.

Booking.com offers competitive rates for any type of hotel, from small independent hotels to a five star luxury ones. The site is available in 24 languages and offers over 71000 hotels in 71 countries. Could be useful for you. There are of course several such sites.

Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

Surbiton Pubs, Gastro Pubs and Bars

The Glasshouse

14 Coombe Rd, New Malden KT3 4QE, UK – 020 8942 4650

A nice gastropub with friendly staff and good food. Slightly more expensive than some of the other local pubs but, the food is very good. A good place to take the family too.

Nice pub, good beers, friendly staff with a large outdoor seating area out back

O'Neill's Kingston upon Thames

3 Eden St, Kingston upon Thames KT1 1BQ, UK – 020 8392 0114

Visited here for the first time to watch a football match and it was so crowded that there were more people standing than were sitting. You couldn't move without being in contact with someone else. The waiters had to squeeze through with people's food and drinks. The crowd was a young, energetic crowd (would say between 20s to early 40s?) Waiters kept forgetting a part of the order. I would like to visit on a less busy day.

One of the nicest pubs I’ve been in. Staff helpful and polite. The food was amazing, had the Steak and Guinness pie with mash and veg. Was so tasty and the flavours were amazing, will definitely visit again when I’m next in Kingston

Prince of Wales

23 Bridge Rd, Molesey, East Molesey KT8 9EU, UK – 020 8979 5561

Stopped in for drinks on a very warm afternoon. Good selection of beers and ciders. Lovely outdoor seating area with a built in outdoor fire pit and grille. Staff was very friendly considering how busy the place was. Ladies bathroom was very clean and well stocked, always a good thing when you are unfamiliar with the area! Would definitely come back for food on my next trip to this part of London!

Prince of Wales is a lovely pub on the main shopping street of East Molesey which is always full of locals and Hapmton Court visitors. They have nice food, a good selection of ales and lagers, are dogs and kids friendly. The only complaint I might have is that sweet potato chips are not served there anymore. Maybe, it's not a cheap place but one of my favourites.

One of the best getaways we've ever had! The Cottage was perfect, just what my partner and I wanted for a romantic break. The staff at Character Cottages were very friendly and the booking process was hassle free! I would highly recommend their services.

Beautiful home with a lovely kind lady who cooks an amazing breakfast! The house is very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We stayed for 10 days and it was just perfect. Highly recommend if you are visiting locally or even going into London is easy by train nearby.

A very welcoming home and host. The house is beautiful and our room was very comfortable. Fleur makes you feel part of the family as soon as you enter her home. Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable.

The Bull and Bush Hotel Kingston

Washington Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT1 3JB, UK – 020 8549 4488

Can only speak from our personal experince but I wouldn’t have any complaint about steying here. Friendly and helpful welcome, clean room, comfy bed and good shower. The location isn’t exactly Park Lane but quiet enough and a short walk to Kingston centre. We were lucky to get a parking spot on the street outside the hotel. Well worth the money, and more than adequate for the price range. We would definitely stay here again.

Cheap and cheerful. Perfect for cheap digs for travelling workers.

Brunswick Road Bed and Breakfast

2 Brunswick Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT2 6SA, UK – 020 8549 5966

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
